Archbishop Dr Calvin Akpazhi Antonza II is the only son among the seven children born to the family of Clement and Mary Antonza II. His birth was a prophetic fulfilment of a prayer his mother offered to God that if the Lord blesses her with a male child, she will offer him back to God as Hannah offered Samuel in the bible.
So his life has been defined by this sacrifice which has charted the course to his life towards fulfilling ministry. Bishop Antonza had grown up under the watchful eyes of his parents who were ardent Christians. This however, did not stop the void he felt as one without Christ. His search for peace led him to confess his faith in the Lord Jesus in his dormitory room in Rimi College Kaduna in 1978 after attending a crusade in Kaduna Polytechnic. Since then, he has devoted his life to serving God in various capacities whenever the need arises. From his primary school in the prestigious St. Bartholomew Primary Boarding School, Wusasa- Zaria to his secondary education at Rimi College, Kaduna and University days, he has always been in one leadership position while following Jesus. It was during his time in the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where he completed his B.Sc. in Economics in 1985 that he began to understand and appreciate the call of God in his life under the tutelage of his mentor Bishop Fred Addo. He also obtained an MSc degree (1992) and a PhD (1999) in Agricultural Economics respectively from the same institution. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Ministries from the School of Church Growth and Practical Ministry (SOCAP) Institute, Kaduna in 1996 and has attended several short courses at home and abroad including a Certificate in Church Personnel Development & Services in 2005, The Oak Seed Executive Leadership Certificate in 2009 and The Keystone Projects training in discipleship in South Dakota, USA, 2016. Prior to being called into the ministry he worked as Research Associate, International Livestock Center for Africa (1990 – 1994) and Managing Consultant, Avant-Garde Consult Ltd. (1995 – 2000). He joined the Supernatural Love Ministries since its conception and he was ordained a pastor in 1994. He has served in many capacities as Secretary/Administrator 1992-1999 in the International Praise Cathedral Kaduna, Senior Lecturer in SOCAP Institute, Secretary General Supernatural Love Ministries (2000- 2016), Member Board of Trustees Supernatural Love Ministries (1987-present) and Chairman, Governing Board of the Supernatural Love Ministries (2010-2016) He was ordained into the office of a Bishop on the 5th of December 1999. On 23rd April 2016, he succeeded Bishop Fred Addo as the President of the Supernatural Love Ministries and was also elected into the office of an Archbishop. He is married to Mary Antonza (Oct, 2018) blessed with three lovely children: Gladys, Rachel and Emmanuel.
